Managing Director, LBPR

“I am truly honoured to be a Rare Birds Ambassador, nestled amongst a dynamic, diverse and driven group of female entrepreneurs who are leaders in their respective fields.

I’m in the business of creating authentic human connections, and Rare Birds is a fantastic example of how to foster genuine collaboration between like-minded people, so we can truly be the change we want to see in the world.

It’s also the ultimate breeding ground for young female entrepreneurs, who can’t help but be inspired to think REALLY big.

After all, if your dreams don’t scare you, they’re simply not big enough!”

Lisa Burling is an award-winning journalist, PR professional, entrepreneur, businesswoman and author. In 2013, a chain of devastating events resulted in her being an unemployed, single mum of two boys under three. Whilst in the Centrelink queue wondering how this was her reality, she decided to set up a business.

Most people thought she was crazy.

Five years later, Lisa is an author, award-winning business owner and entrepreneur. She is an Ambassador for Inspiring Rare Birds and The AusMumpreneur Network, and the Founder and Managing Director of award-winning PR consultancy LBPR. She is also a signed author with New Holland Publishers, with two books under her belt: ‘Dream a Little Dream’ and ‘All it takes is a little … gumption.’

Lisa was the 2016 Illawarra Businesswoman of the Year and Innovative Businesswoman of the Year. LBPR has been recognised as Best New Business by the Illawarra Business Chamber, and Best New Business and Small Business by Illawarra Women in Business.

In 2018, LBPR was awarded by the Public Relations Institute of Australia the Best Small PR Consultancy of the Year, and won Best PR Campaign on a Small Budget plus Best Digital/Social Media Campaign of the Year. In 2019, LBPR was Highly Commended in the same three categories.
