A message from our Founder and CEO Jo Burston
Reflecting on 2023, it has been an exceptionally captivating and influential year for the Inspiring Rare Birds community, our Mentors, Mentees, strategic partners, and grant providers. With the addition of new organisations and our collective dedication to empowering women entrepreneurs and emerging leaders, we have accomplished significant milestones and made tangible impacts.
Our key corporate clients continue to see results for their high-performing female talent in their Building Female Futures Programs, growing not only the confidence and capabilities of program participants, but emboldening them to step into their leadership roles and be more assertive when seeking career progression.
We launched a new program in partnership with Uber which saw 100 driver or delivery partners selected from a total of 2831 applications to undertake either an Incubator or Accelerator program and turn their entrepreneurial dreams into reality. Not only are the program results extremely pleasing, but Uber has enjoyed sharing the success stories of the participants both internally and with the comunity.
Another key highlight was receiving support from City of Sydney to run a short course on digital innovation and emerging technologies for women business owners. The Workshops and Ask the Expert sessions provided women with significant actionable insights that they were able to implement in their businesses and several of our presenters have since become Mentors with Rare Birds to provide continued one-on-one support.
Rare Birds exists to provide opportunities for entrepreneurs and emerging leaders to connect, learn and grow. I’m really pleased to present the results of our work in 2023.
